The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the rescheduling of Match No. 19 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), originally scheduled for Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
The match will now be played on Tuesday, April 8 at 3:30 PM at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The change was made after the Kolkata Police contacted the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and informed about their inability to deploy security personnel for the game on April 6, due to the Ram Navami and related festivities where a lot of the Police resources will already be in use.
The authorities requested the change in date to April 8, which was accepted by the CAB and then the BCCI. Now, April 8 will be the only weekday double-header this season, with the Punjab Kings hosting the Chennai Super Kings in Chandigarh at 7:30 PM as per the original schedule.
Meanwhile, Sunday, April 6, will now host just a single match between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans. The rest of the schedule hasn’t been changed.
Previously IPL games had been rescheduled for the same security deployment reasons during the General Election and on some other occasions.
