3 Players Who Could Ditch PSL For IPL
With IPL and PSL clashing for the first time, we could see many players jump ship
With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 clashing for the first time this time, there are bound to be a few players moving across the border as injury replacements.
We look at three such players who could move from PSL to IPL if they were to be called up:
David Warner
David Warner was picked in by the Karachi Kings (KK) for the upcoming PSL season. He has represented Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL but went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction.
Warner is the highest run-getter among overseas players in the IPL with over 6,500 runs might be tempted to return to the league where he has dominated over the years.
Rassie van der Dussen
South Africa batter Rassie van der Dussen has been in excellent form of late. He scored 52, 72*, and 69 in his three Champions Trophy matches. If that was not enough, he finished with 393 runs at 49.12 (SR 129.70) in Mumbai Cape Town's (MICT) triumphant SA20 campaign as well.
The 36-year-old has been picked up by Islamabad United for the upcoming PSL season, having previously represented Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL in 2022. On current form, Van der Dussen could certainly be a handy pick for any franchise.
Kyle Jamieson
Injuries have played a huge role in Kyle Jamieson's growth, but he is back up and running, recently playing for New Zealand in the Champions Trophy. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) picked him up at the 2021 auction for a whopping INR 15 crore, but he did not live up to his billing as he picked up just nine wickets and scored 65 runs in nine matches that season.
Jamieson is expected to turn up for Quetta Gladiators in the PSL this season, but an IPL deal might tempt him to switch allegiance.
