The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will restart from May 17 onwards. This would give a chance to players who, before the one-week break in the league from May 9 to 16, caused by tensions between India and Pakistan, had a very poor outing, to turn things around.
Here are three players who can turn their season around by making the most of the break to refresh themselves.
Rishabh Pant, after being picked as the costliest player in the IPL mega auction 2025, for INR 27 crore, has been a proper flop show. Not only has he been out of form, but the runs (128 in 11 matches) that the LSG skipper has scored have come at a dismal strike rate of 99.22.
With one week of rest, he must have revitalised his senses and would be looking to salvage the season by leading the Super Giants to the playoffs at least, as they have an outside chance.
One of the best bowlers in the world, Rashid Khan, has had a forgettable outing in the IPL 2025, picking up just eight wickets in 11 games at a never-seen-before-dismal average of 46 and a high economy rate of 9.
Rashid’s IPL career average of 23 and economy of 7 are way too high for him to perform so badly with the ball in hand this season. However, despite such an average showing by the Afghan all-rounder, the Titans are within touching distance of securing a playoff seat.
Thus, the 26-year-old will look to support his side by turning his own season around with the ball.
Much like Pant, Rajat Patidar’s season has gone from bad to worse, and this happened after he was given the added responsibility of leading the RCB this season. Though RCB have winning momentum behind them, Patidar has managed only 239 runs in 10 innings at a mediocre average of 23.9.
Among those 239 runs, the batter has two scores of 64 and 51 in his first three innings only, clearly suggesting that success has eluded him in his last seven IPL 2025 innings.
However, after one week of rest, in which he would have had time to also recover from an injury he was carrying, Patidar would look to perform at the time which matters the most and win RCB their first ever title.
