Indian women's cricket team will be playing a single Test against Australia as a part of their bilateral series in September, according to a report by ESPNCricinfo.
The Test will be the Indian women's first Test in Australia since 2006, where is lost to Australia by an innings and 4 runs in Adelaide. The team led by Mithali Raj, is scheduled to play a Test against England from June 17, which marks their return to Test whites since the Test against South Africa in 2014.
India is yet to win a Test against Australia as they lost four of the five red-ball encounters so far while one ended in a draw. Both countries played their first women's Test in 1976, followed by a three-Test series in 1990-91 and then the last one in 2006.
The tour of Australia consisted of three ODIs scheduled for January this year, but a report on the CA website in December 2020 said the assignment would be rescheduled for the 2021-22 season and would be expanded to include three T20Is.
