India's last group game against Canada game likely to be rained out

Both the T20 World Cup games in Lauderhill, Florida, so far have been abandoned due to rain

The Florida weather that was threatening to dish out washout games in Lauderhill is behaving exactly as predicted.

After the Sri Lanka-Nepal game was abandoned on June 12, the crucial encounter between the United States and Ireland has also met the same fate.

Despite no rain until three hours after the game's scheduled starting time, the game didn’t start as wet patches remained in the field due to the heavy rainfall in that region of Florida during the week. In fact, there have been multiple flood warnings in that region.

Under these circumstances, the upcoming game between India and Canada will probably also be abandoned due to rain or a wet outfield. The weather prediction also proves this, as Accuweather shows roughly 55-67% chances of rain during the game, which starts at 10:30 AM local time (8 PM India time).

Additionally, more than 90% cloud cover is predicted for the entire day, making it hard for the wet patches in the outfield to dry out. The chances of the game happening looked even slimmer when rain appeared around 2 PM local time on June 14, and the Ireland-USA game was abandoned.

India have already ensured their Super Eight qualification after winning against the USA in New York. If the game is rained out, they’ll share a point with Canada, who are already out of competition with just one win after three games. USA qualified for the Super Eights from this group after the washout against Ireland.
