Injured Hardik, Mayank sit out of Sunday matches

Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya and Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal sat out of Sunday's games against CSK and SRH respectively

Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya and Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal were rested for the IPL 2022 matches against Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad games respectively on Sunday due to injuries.

According to GT's stand-in captain Rashid Khan, Hardik suffered a groin strain. The allrounder, who played a match-winning knock of 87 not out and claimed 1-18 in the win against Rajasthan Royals, was seen resting on the sidelines from time to time during the RR's chase but bowled 2.3 overs in the match.

"Hardik has a little bit of stiffness in his groin," Rashid said at the toss against CSK. "We have a break after this game, so hopefully he should be fine by the next one," he added.

Punjab Kings skipper Mayank Agarwal injured his toe during a practice on Saturday which saw him rested for the SRH game which they lost by seven wickets.

"Mayank injured his toe while training yesterday. He should fine be for the next game," stand-in skipper Dhawan said during the toss.
