After injuries to Mohammad Saifuddin and Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh have received another hammer blow before the home series against Pakistan, with opener Tamim Iqbal ruled out with a thumb injury. Bangladesh’s premier all-rounder Shakib has been ruled out of the shortest format series after sustaining a hamstring injury in the T20 World Cup.
Tamim was expected to play a massive role in the home series, after he pulled out of the T20 World Cup earlier this year. However, a new fracture on his broken thumb pushes his comeback in international cricket.
"Yes, he is ruled out from the home series against Pakistan due to a thumb injury. The swelling has not healed and due to that reason he had another x-ray. It revealed he is having a fracture that was not found out previously,'' Minhajul told Cricbuzz.
The three-match T20I series begins on November 19, with the remainder of the series on 20 and 22, at the Sher-e-Bangla National stadium. On the other hand, the two-match Test series will start on November 26, with the final Test on December 4.
