Injured Bangladesh pacers Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam will return back home after the first Test against South Africa at Durban, BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin confirmed on Sunday.
Taskin suffered a shoulder injury during the ongoing Test. He managed to bowl only 11 overs in the second innings with extended breaks off the field. He bowled 23 overs in the first innings and returned 0-69.
Shoriful had been ruled out of the Durban Test due to multiple injuries, including an ankle niggle.
"Taskin and Shoriful are coming home after this Test match. We will take a look at them when they are back. We are trying to find out how Taskin got injured. We have four fast bowlers remaining in the squad. So we are covered," Abedin told ESPNCricinfo.
Taskin got the crucial wicket of Proteas captain Dean Elgar on fourth day as the host extended their lead beyong 250.
