Insane Stat Highlights Australia’s TERRIBLE LUCK In Champions Trophy

We’ve had our first washout of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and well, no prizes for guessing which team has been involved in it. Of course it’s Australia, who had as many as three washouts across the previous two editions of the competition. 

Australia vs South Africa was one of the most anticipated clashes of the tournament but the two teams will have to share a point each on the back of the disappointing no result in Rawalpindi.

The washout means that Australia have now been involved in 5 ‘no results’ in Champions Trophy history - the most among all countries. Incredibly, no other team has been involved in more than three washouts.

The good news for Australia is that their fate is still in their own hands. They will make it to the semi-finals if they beat Afghanistan in Lahore on February 28. They can still qualify even if they lose against Afghanistan but, for that, they will need help from their arch-rivals England.
