The International Masters League T20 opening game between the India and Sri Lanka masters made many fans nostalgic as Sachin Tendulkar pulled off a stunning catch in the outfield to take the fans back in time.
Batting first, the India Masters scored 222/4, Stuart Binny scoring 68 off 31, and Yusuf Pathan hitting 56 off just 22 deliveries.
While chasing, the Sri Lanka masters had a great start, with captain and wicketkeeper Kumar Sangakkara scoring 51 off 30 deliveries. However, they were soon 95/4 as Irfan Pathan picked two wickets quickly, and Dhawal Kulkarni and Abhimanyu Mithun chipped in with a wicket each.
At 119/4, Ashan Priyanjan skied a ball from Vinay Kumar straight up between the fine leg and the keeper, and Tendulkar, who was stationed close by, got underneath the skied ball. However, just as soon as he was about to catch it, keeper Ambati Rayudu came and collided with him. Despite the collision, Tendulkar held on to the catch safely.
India Masters eventually won the game by three runs.
