Inzamam-ul-Haq and Misbah-ul-Haq, two of the most interesting and impactful batters in Pakistan cricket’s history, were named in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Hall of Fame for the year 2025. Along with them, left-arm opening batter Saeed Anwar and yesteryear star Mushtaq Muhammad were also inducted into the Hall of Fame on January 10.
Reacting to the achievement, Inzamam, who is still the leading run-scorer for Pakistan in ODIs (11,701), said, “I owe immense gratitude to my fellow cricketers, dedicated support staff and my family, without whom this journey would not have been possible.
“Representing Pakistan during an era with such high-caliber players was a privilege and their influence played a vital role in my growth and development as a batter,” added the man who led the Men in Green in 31 Tests and 87 ODIs between 2000 and 2007.
Misbah, who captained the Pakistan team most number of times in Tests (56) and is also the only skipper to take the side to the number one spot in the ICC Test rankings (2016), said that it was the crowning achievement in his career to be named in a hall of fame with greats of Pakistan cricket.
“Representing Pakistan was an absolute privilege, captaining the team was a profound honour and this recognition by the Pakistan Cricket Board serves as the perfect crowning achievement of my journey,” said the man, part of the 2009 T20 World Cup winning squad.
While Misbah and Inzamam led the Pakistan team for a longer period, Anwar too led the side in seven Tests and 11 ODIs. Mushtaq Muhammad was the first Pakistan captain to register a Test win in Australia and was also part of the inaugural ODI World Cup in 1975.
Four members were inducted into the Hall of Fame this year as there were no inductees in 2024. Each year only two members are usually inducted in the list.
