5 moments that stood out from GT beating MI

Worried that you missed the GT-MI thriller? We got you covered!

Bumrah sizzles as others fizzle

Yet another day, yet another three-wicket haul (20th) for Jasprit Bumrah, the most for a bowler in IPL. He removed Wriddhiman Saha, David Miller and Sai Sudharsan in a spell that read 4-0-14-3.

Rahul Tewatia, and yet another cameo

At 134/5, Gujarat needed a hero and in stepped Rahul Tewatia, who scored 22 off 15 with two fours and a six. He pumped 19 runs off Luke Wood's over, taking Gujarat to 168, a score that proved to be more than enough in the end.

When Omarzai announced himself at the IPL level

Azmatullah Omarzai couldn’t have asked for a better start in the IPL, with the wicket of Ishan Kishan in his first over. But he didn’t stop there, also removing a red-hot Naman Dhir (20 off 10) to finish with figures of 2/27 in three overs.

Momentum-turning three overs

At 121/3, chasing 169, Mumbai were on top of the game in the 14th over. But then a three-over phase (15-16-17), where Gujarat only conceded 12 runs, with Mohit Sharma picking up well-set Dewald Brevis (46 off 38), turned the tide around. In particular, it was Rashid's three-run 17th over, which proved to be the game-changer.

Umesh 1-0 Hardik

19 off 6. Hardik Pandya vs Umesh Yadav.

Hardik smashed a six, then a four. But Umesh had the last laugh, dismissing the former GT skipper. From thereon, it would always be a matter of when for Gujarat, as fans booed Hardik endlessly throughout the day.
