IPL 2025: 3 Chennai Super Kings players who could light up SA20 2025

Who are the players from the Chennai Super Kings who could have a huge say in SA20 2025?

The SA20 has enjoyed great success in its first two seasons, and the third edition, too, promises to be a blockbuster. Plenty of Indian Premier League (IPL) players will play in the SA20 2025, and here, we take a closer look at the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) players who could light up the tournament.

Devon Conway

Devon Conway will play in the SA20 for the first time. He has played 23 matches in the IPL, having scored 924 runs at 48.63 to go with a strike rate of 141.28, which includes nine fifties in 22 innings. He has been an asset for CSK at the top of the order and will look to replicate that for Joburg Super Kings in the SA20 as well.

The Johannesburg-born cricketer has scored over 6,000 runs in 187 T20 matches at a strike rate of 129.

Matheesha Pathirana

Known for his round-arm action with the ability to bowl at excellent pace, Matheesha Pathirana will certainly be a handful in the SA20 2025. Like Conway, this will be his maiden season in the SA20.

Since making his debut for CSK in 2022 under the tutelage of MS Dhoni, Pathirana has picked up 34 wickets at an economy rate of 7.88. He has gone on to play for Sri Lanka in white-ball cricket, having taken 47 wickets in 31 matches.  Pathirana also has the most T20 wickets (64) at the death (Overs 16-20) since 2023.

Noor Ahmad

CSK broke the bank for Noor Ahmad at the IPL 2025 auction, acquiring his services for INR 10 crore, from a base price of INR 2 crore. Noor played for Durban Super Giants (DSG) in the previous season, and played a key role in them making the final. He picked up 12 wickets in six matches, including a five-wicket haul.
