Known widely as one of the best pacers in the game today, Jasprit Bumrah has already had an enviable career, and by the time he calls it a day, he would have shattered many more records. While Bumrah is a prime example of what every fast bowler in the world desires to be, for him, some things are more important than cricket.
“For me, family is more important than my career because you know that is constant,” Bumrah said to Michael Clarke on the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast.
“There are two things that I take seriously. One is my family, and one is my game, but family comes first.
“I have to give priority, and I do give priority because I will not be a cricketer all the time. For them, I’m not a cricketer. I’m a human being, and you know, being a young father, seeing my son, you know, he started picking up the ball and started playing with the ball, which is not advisable at this moment."
Bumrah missed the first few games for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, but has been a key cog in the team's set-up since his arrival. He has picked up 18 wickets at an economy rate of 6.36, including 1/27 in the Eliminator against Gujarat Titans (GT), after MI put up 228.
