IPL 2025: 3 famous batters who Bumrah has not dismissed in IPL
Here are three batters who have done well against Jasprit Bumrah in Indian Premier League (IPL)
Jasprit Bumrah is arguably the best player the Indian Premier League (IPL) gave to Indian cricket as the Mumbai Indians (MI) legend got his big break and attention from mainstream cricket fans in IPL 2013. His first-ever IPL wicket, where he dismissed Virat Kohli for an LBW after getting hit for three fours, is one of the most re-watched moments from the IPL folklore.
Over the 12 years that he has played IPL for Mumbai Indians, the Gujarat-born star has taken 165 wickets in 133 innings at a decent bowling SR of 18.5. He has dismissed big names like Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Rishabh Pant, Andre Russell, and others on multiple occasions. Yet, a few batters have surprisingly never been dismissed by Bumrah, and they have managed to get some quality runs through his bowling.
Here are three notable batters who have faced Bumrah and have never been dismissed:
David Warner
8 inns, 54 runs, 45 balls, 120 SR
David Warner is considered the most successful overseas batter in the IPL as the Aussie Icon has scored over 6,000 runs, won the orange cap thrice and scored the most 50+ scores in the tournament.
Across 16 IPL seasons, Warner has managed to keep good records against big names like Sunil Narine, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Lasith Malinga, only getting out against them a couple of times.
Against Jasprit Bumrah, he has played eight innings and scored 54 runs, eating up 45 balls with a mediocre strike rate of 120. However, the important factor in this face-off is Warner’s ability to see off Bumrah and keep his wicket in all eight instances without getting dismissed. Not getting out to players like Bumrah in multiple innings showcases how much value Warner puts on his wicket.
Dinesh Karthik
7 inns, 68 runs, 37 balls, 184 SR
Dinesh Karthik is easily the most well-rounded batter in the IPL. As the current Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting coach, he played for multiple teams and batted from number three to eight, scoring 4,842 runs in 234 innings and 22 fifties during his 17-year IPL career from 2008 to 2024.
He has managed to dominate bowlers like Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, and T Natarajan, smashing them at a 180+ strike rate. Amongst them is Jasprit Bumrah as well as DK has hammered Bumrah for 68 runs in seven innings at 184 SR. He has the third-best SR for a batter who has faced 30+ balls against Bumrah.
Ruturaj Gaikwad
3 inns, 29 runs, 17 balls, 171 SR
Ruturaj Gaikwad is easily the best Indian batter in Indian Premier League (IPL) in last five years. Since his debut in 2020 edition, the current Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain has scored 2,380 runs in 65 innings with 18 fifties and two centuries.
He has scored well against the likes of Kuldeep Yadav, Lockie Ferguson, Pat Cummins and others. He has also done well against Jasprit Bumrah, scoring 29 runs in three innings at a SR of 171. Of the 29 runs, 21 runs came off in the first face-off against Bumrah, smashing three boundaries in 10 balls.
