Mumbai Indians (MI), after their loss against Punjab Kings (PBKS), will now have to play Gujarat Titans on May 30 (Friday) at the Maharaja Yadvinder Singh International Stadium in Mullanpur, Punjab in the Eliminator of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
But they won’t be the same, as the five-time IPL champions will now have to look at their bench for reinforcements. The trio of Will Jacks, Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch are unavailable for the big clash.
MI don’t have a good history against GT either, with a loss against the 2022 IPL champions, just before the tournament got postponed. However, having said that, Mumbai have excellent additions to their setup, bringing in the likes of Jonny Bairstow, Charith Asalanka and Richard Gleeson into their squad.
What works out in MI’s favour is that they know how to win, and they have done it five times in the past.
So, how will Mumbai line up for the IPL 2025 Eliminator clash against Gujarat?
Jonny Bairstow (wk), Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (c), Bevon John-Jacobs, Naman Dhir, Ashwani Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah
Impact Player: Karn Sharma
