It was Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj who stole the show once again, sharing six wickets between them in the seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 6 (Sunday) to help Gujarat Giants (GT) jump to second in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 points table.
Prasidh, who finished with 2/25, believes that GT players have the ability to bat or bowl at any time during the match, which makes them dangerous.
"We have a team where, luckily, we have the people that have the skill levels to bat at any number, bowl at any stage of the game. And, that worked for us," Prasidh said at the post-match press conference.
Prasidh also praised Siraj, saying all his hard work is paying off. The fast bowler has won the Player of the Match award in GT's last two games.
“We’ve had great sessions together. All the work that he’s put in from January or February that he’s been working on, everything is going well. He’s releasing the ball well, feeling confident,” he said.
"I think if you look at the wins that we’ve had, they came with a lot of understanding of what the wicket is behaving like and adjusting our game plans accordingly.
“So, if as a bowling unit we are able to do that consistently, it is really helpful going forward in the tournament. Well, the pitch was slightly slow when we got on to bowl."
GT, who have won three in a row, will look to continue their momentum when they take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 9 (Wednesday).
