Days after the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team manager wrote an email to the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) threatening to pull out of the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad, due to misconduct by the members of the cricketing board, the association has refuted these claims.
“The Apex Council clarifies that A. Jagan Mohan Rao, President, HCA, did not make any personal request to block 3900 tickets per match for his purchase and reiterates the discussions held on 19.02.2025, wherein the President has made a request on behalf of the Apex Council’s proposal to provide the tickets to the Club Secretaries,” the association said in a press release.
“It is unfair on your part to make incorrect insinuations against the President of HCA...we request all the officials of SRH to come forward with an open mind with for a complete resolution of all outstanding issues,” it added.
On March 30 (Sunday), SRH asked for BCCI and the Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council to intervene and stop the "blackmailing tactics" by the HCA, but the cricketing body has denied all charges made by SRH.
The tiff started when members of the HCA "threatened" SRH, demanding more complimentary passes for the IPL games in Hyderabad. Furthermore, it is also alleged that the HCA representatives locked up the box on the day of the SRH vs Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) match, which further angered SRH.
SRH's next game at home is against Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 6 (Sunday).
