Chennai Super Kings (CSK) succumbed to their third successive defeat on April 5 (Saturday), losing to Delhi Capitals (DC) by 25 runs at Chepauk. CSK never looked in the match in pursuit of 184, as they were reduced to 74/5 in the 11th over.
MS Dhoni walked in at seven and scored a pain-striking 30* off 26 and put on 84 off 57 with Vijay Shankar but could not take CSK over the line.
With Dhoni's parents present at the stadium, there were rumours that this would be the former CSK skipper's last IPL match. However, there was no announcement regarding the same after the match.
However, when head coach Stephen Fleming was asked about Dhoni's retirement after the match, he said he had no idea.
“No, that's not my role to put an end to it. I have no idea. I'm just enjoying working with him still. He's still going strong. I don't even ask these days. You are the ones who ask," Fleming said at the post-match press conference.
CSK will hope to snap their losing streak when they take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mullanpur on Mullanpur on April 8 (Tuesday)
