Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson misses the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) due to an abdominal injury. Riyan Parag, who led RR in the first three matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, is leading the team in his absence.
A finger injury at the start of the season allowed Samson to play as an impact player. Since his return, RR have won just one of their four matches. In the previous game against Delhi Capitals (DC), Samson retired hurt and did not play any role in the super over that followed.
With Samson completely set to be out of the contest, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be making his debut. He is set to be the youngest to feature in the tournament's history. He was bought at the auction for INR 1.1 crore by RR.
There is no timeline on Samson's return. He is RR's leading run-getter this season with 224 runs from seven innings. RR are currently eighth in the IPL 2025 points table with four points from seven matches.
