Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Jasprit Bumrah has joined the squad ahead of their next Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium on April 7 (Monday), according to a report on Cricbuzz.
Bumrah has missed all of MI's games so far as he continues to recover from a back injury that has kept him out of action since the end of the Australia tour in January. He consequently missed India's Champions Trophy 2025 campaign as well.
MI announced his return on X with a colourful video titled "Ready to Road. " In the video, his wife Sanjana reads Bumrah's IPL story and calls the pacer the "King of the Jungle." No MI bowler has picked up more wickets than Bumrah in the IPL since his debut in 2013. In this period, he has picked up 165 wickets at an economy rate of 7.3.
MI have struggled this season in Bumrah's absence, having lost three of four games so far. They will hope to turn things around against RCB, with or without Bumrah.
