Jos Buttler has broken yet another Indian Premier League (IPL) record to become the fastest to 4,000 IPL runs by balls, after Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers. He achieved this feat during his knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Ahmedabad on May 2 (Friday).
2,658 balls - Chris Gayle
2,658 balls - AB de Villiers
2,677 balls - Jos Buttler
2,714 balls- Suryakumar Yadav
Buttler needed just 12 runs to get to 4,000 runs in the IPL, and he got there off just his seventh delivery.
The former England skipper is part of a deadly batting trio with Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, who have proved to be a nightmare for the bowlers this season. All three of them have over 400 runs this season. As a result, GT are the only team in IPL 2025 to have three players who have scored 400-plus runs this season.
Batting has been the reason behind their success this season, having played a massive role in GT being in a formidable position to make the playoffs.
