Upon the request of broadcasters, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have reportedly agreed to begin the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction at 3:30 PM IST on November 24 (Sunday), which translates to 1.00 PM local time (Saudi Time).
According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI made the adjustment to ensure that the broadcasters get undivided attention to the auction. The adjusted time will also ensure that the event does not clash with the first Test between India and Australia in Perth.
The third day of the Perth Test between India and Australia will conclude by 3:20 PM IST at the latest, even if there is a 30-minute extension.
"Please note that the start time will now be 1:00 PM Saudi time/03:30 PM IST (based on the request from the broadcaster)," a BCCI communique read, reported Cricbuzz.
According to the report, the auction is expected to last until 10:30 PM IST, meaning it will be a seven-hour affair.
The auction will be held at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The proceedings will be shown live on Star Sports and Jio Cinema.
