Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) opening batter Mitchell Marsh has become only the fourth player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to hit four fifties in first five matches. Only Virat Kohli (2016), David Warner (2016) and Chris Gayle (2018) have achieved this feat previously.
Marsh started the season with a 36-ball 72 in Visakhapatnam against Delhi Capitals (DC) and followed that up with a 52 off 31 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Hyderabad.
4 - David Warner, 2016
4 - Virat Kohli, 2016
4 - Chris Gayle, 2018
4 - Mitchel Marsh, 2025
There was a minor blip when he was dismissed for a first-ball duck against Punjab Kings (PBK), but he bounced back with the fifties against Mumbai Indians (MI) (60 off 31) and now against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has got to his fifty off 36 balls.
He put on 99 for the wicket with Aiden Markram in just 62 deliveries. Thanks to this innings, Marsh is also the leading run-getter in IPL 2025. LSG has won two of its four matches this season so far.
