Mumbai Indians (MI) have come up with a new way to chauffer fans to the Wankhede Stadium for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 home matches. They have tied up with Uber, who offer free services for fans fans between Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to the Wankhede Stadium before the game.
The program will begin on March 31 (Monday) for MI's tie against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Along with this, Uber has also announced promo codes for fans heading to the stadium through their app. The move is aimed at saving the fans from traffic, parking issues and last-minute cancellations. A total of 10 shuttle buses will operate between BKC to Wankhede via Bandra and Worli.
"Uber Shuttle brings the reliability of Uber to buses. As Mumbai Indians's mobility partner, this service offers fans a convenient way to travel while easing traffic congestion," Snehashish Nag, Head of Strategy, said.
After the match, the fans can choose to take the shuttle again from the Cooperage Bandstand (near Wankhede) to Haji Ali, Phoenix Palladium, and BKC. Seats for these services will be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis.
MI have lost both their matches in IPL 2025 so far. They lost their first game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by four wickets, and followed that by a 36-run loss against Gujarat Titans (GT). Their match against KKR will be their first home fixture of the season.
