Rashid Khan has been off-colour this season with the ball and has not looked at his threatening best as he has over the years. In his absence, finger-spinner Sai Kishore has taken over the spin department and has done a commendable job for Gujarat Titans (GT) as he is the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 with 12 scalps.
On the other hand, Rashid finished with 2/25 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) — his best performance this season so far. Despite his poor performance in the tournament, Sai Kishore says the team never doubted Rashid's abilities.
“It's definitely great to see him back. As a team, we never doubted him—never doubted his abilities. He’s the best T20 bowler in the world. I think he’s taken the most wickets in the format - I'm not exactly sure about the stats, but I believe he’s right up there. It’s just good to have him back,” Sai Kishore said in the post-match press conference after GT beat KKR by 39 runs in Kolkata.
With this win, GT further consolidated their position at the top, with 12 points from six matches. They next play the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur on April 28 (Monday).
