Prabhsimran Singh became the first-ever Punjab Kings (PBKS) player to hit four consecutive fifties in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He achieved this feat against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamsala on May 8 (Wednesday). He got to his fifty off just 28 deliveries against DC.
His run started off with a fine 49-ball 83 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He followed that up with 54 off 36 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and in the last game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), he scored 91 off just 48 deliveries.
Only three other Indian players have hit four or more consecutive IPL fifties.
5 - Virender Sehwag
4 - Prabhsimran Singh
4 - Virat Kohli
4 - Shikhar Dhawan
Prabhsimran has formed a formidable partnership with Priyansh Arya, with whom he has put on 528 runs, only second to Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, who have hit 634 runs. Even today, they put on 122 runs for the first wicket off just 62 deliveries.
A win for PBKS here will assure them of a place in the playoffs. Earlier, they won the toss and decided to bat first, after rain forced a delayed start.
