Rajasthan Royals (RR) turned a new batting page, smashing 79/1 against 2023 IPL champions Chennai Super Kings on March 30 (Sunday), the third-most runs against them in the powerplay.
While CSK have had a good start with the ball in the powerplay phases of their first two clashes, they were taken apart in their third clash. Jamie Overton, who replaced Sam Curran in the playing XI, was taken apart in his first over, giving away 14 runs.
Nitish Rana continued his onslaught against Overton, taking him on for another couple of boundaries as the Royals raced off to 45 runs after the first four overs. CSK hoped for some sort of breather when Ravichandran Ashwin was introduced into the attack, but he ended up conceding with six, six and four in his first over.
