Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant has been fined INR 30 lakh for yet another over-rate related offence - this time against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Lucknow on May 27 (Tuesday).
The other members of the team were also fined INR 12 lakh or 50% of their match fee, whichever is lower.
This is LSG's third over-rate offence this season, with the previous two coming against Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 5 and April 26, respectively. Despite this being Pant's third offence he will not be suspended for LSG's next match as the rule was amended earlier this season.
However, Hardik Pandya faced a one-match ban this season, which was carried forward from last season.
Pant finally showed signs of returning to form with an unbeaten 118 off 61 against RCB. LSG put on 227 on the board, but RCB chased it down quite comfortably in the end, thanks to Jitesh Sharma's heroics.
LSG finished the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 in seventh place, with just 12 points from 14 matches.
