With his first six on April 17 (Thursday) against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rohit Sharma became the first-ever Mumbai Indians (MI) player to bring up 100 sixes at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. The right-hander got to the milestone six against Indian pacer Mohammed Shami, with the top edge flying over the boundary rope.
Prior to this innings, Rohit had only hit three sixes in the entire competition, with his highest score of IPL 2025 being the 18 he scored against Delhi Capitals (DC), on April 13 (Sunday). But cometh the hour, the right-hander absolutely tonked the ball to all parts, smashing three sixes in the clash.
After the first top edge, the right-hander disdainfully pulled Shami over the square leg boundary as the Wankhede Stadium roared. Rohit then continued that onslaught against Pat Cummins, smashing his third six of the night.
