Shardul Thakur bowled the longest over in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Shardul, who came into the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) side as a replacement for Mohsin Khan in this campaign, bowled as many as 11 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 13th over of the run-chase when his first five balls were five wides - that is, a wide every ball.
Only twice has an 11-ball over taken place in the IPL. Previously, Tushar Deshpande had bowled 11 deliveries against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Chennai and Mohammed Siraj against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Bengaluru - both coming in 2023.

However, the over ended on an excellent note for LSG, as Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed for 61 off 35, giving away 13 runs overall in the over. Rahane was dismissed off the final ball of the over, and Shardul picked up a wicket off the first ball of his next over to get the better of Andre Russell for seven.
The hat-trick delivery bowled to Harshtit Rana was sliced over point, just escaping Abdul Samad, into the fence.
Overall, Shardul finished with figures of 2/52, bowling eight wides overall. He was not the most expensive bowler from his team as Avesh Khan conceded 55 from his four overs.
