Sunrisers Hyderabad have signed Karnataka’s run-scoring machine Smaran Ravichandran as Adam Zampa’s replacement for the rest of the IPL 2025 season on April 14 (Monday). The left-hander will join the 2016 IPL champions for his base price of INR 30 lakhs for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season.
Smaran had an outstanding Maharaja T20 Trophy in 2024, where he scored 302 runs off 208 balls, averaging a staggering 43.14 at a strike rate of 145.2. The left-hander could be slotted straight into SRH’s playing XI, considering how their middle-order has crumbled under pressure at times.
The Karnataka man continued his great form with 135 runs in the 2025 DY Patil Cup, where he struck at 204.6 after an impressive Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) season, where he scored 170 runs.
Ayush Mhatre, the 17-year-old opening batter from Mumbai, was confirmed as Ruturaj Gaikwad’s replacement at Chennai Super Kings for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.
Mhatre was earlier called for a trial in Chennai, along with a few other domestic cricketers, and the team management is believed to have picked the 17-year-old Mhatre for his aggressive batting and also the fact that he had an impressive domestic season.
He became the youngest batter to score 150-plus runs in List A cricket (181 off 117 balls against Nagaland). He also scored a half-century on his Ranji Trophy debut, hitting 52 off 71 balls against Baroda.
Mhatre is yet to make his T20 debut.
