Too Little Too Late As Ishan Kishan Returns To Form vs RCB

The southpaw ended unbeaten on 94 off 48 deliveries in Lucknow

It seemed like it would be Ishan Kishan's season after he slammed a ton on his Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) debut against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Hyderabad on March 23. After that, he went seven innings without getting into double figures, but the management stuck with the southpaw.

In the previous three innings before this, Kishan slammed 25 (28), 13 (17) and 44 (34) to show glimpses of his good form. However, in the clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Lucknow on May 23 (Friday), Kishan finally went past fifty for the first time since his first game of the season. He got to his half-century in just 28 deliveries, and continued attacking the bowlers despite wickets falling at the other end.

After his century in the first game, Kishan scored just 125 more runs in his next 10 matches, which dented SRH's chances.

Kishan finished unbeaten on 94 off 48 with seven fours and five sixes, punctuating his innings as SRH finished with a formidable 231/6. The wicketkeeper-batter's numbers look far more respectable now, with 325 runs at 36.11 along with a strike rate of 153.3.

His performance against RCB has come a little too late for SRH, however, as they have already been eliminated from the tournament. They are currently eighth in the points table and will end the campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who have also been eliminated.
