After losing four out of the first five matches, Mumbai Indians made a stunning comeback in the IPL 2025 and currently sit in the second position on the points table, right behind Gujarat Titans. Hardik Pandya has been one of the most consistent forces in terms of batting, bowling, and captaincy, ensuring the team have gelled well together to form a cohesive unit.
It was on full display against Lucknow Super Giants, a team with their own challenges, as Mumbai Indians completed a massive 54-run victory. Skipper Hardik Pandya credited the side for their strong approach in the game and how they killed the encounter after the first innings.
“The momentum which we had and carrying that momentum and everyone has been chipping,” Pandya said in the post-match encounter. “Everyone kept taking the chances. At the end, it looked like we have lost of a few wickets. But Bosch and Naman came in and chipped in. We knew when to kill the game, and we were awesome. The good teams are made of that when everyone comes in and chips in.
Both Corbin Bosch and Will Jacks completed their quota of overs - a tactic Mumbai didn’t follow earlier. In turn, Pandya himself bowled just one over.
Pandya explained, "Good teams are made of the same when everyone chips in. From Ryan, Will, to Bosch, myself, everyone is chipping in. I bowl when I am required. Today was the best chance for Bosch to come in and bowl.
“This competition is very tough, can't get carried away. We need to play good cricket, always prepare for the next game, and keep up with the momentum going forward,” the Mumbai Indians skipper said.
