The 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has already crossed its halfway mark and the picture of the leading run scorer and wicket-taker in the season is becoming clear. Let’s see who holds the Orange (for most runs scored) and Purple (for most wickets taken) cap in the IPL so far.
Who holds the Orange Cap in IPL 2025
Gujarat Titans’ opening batter Sai Sudharsan is running away with the Orange Cap at the moment. After playing eight innings in the tournament, Sudharsan is leading the run scoring charts with 417 runs in just eight innings at a strike rate of 152.18, averaging 52.12/dismissal.
He is followed by Nicholas Pooran (377 runs in eight innings at 204.8) and his GT teammate Jos Buttler (356 runs in eight innings at 356).
Who holds the Purple cap in the IPL
Prasidh Krishna is leading the wicket-takers list and is holding the Purple cap after picking 16 scalps in just eight innings at an economy of 7.29 so far in the 2025 season of the IPL. Krishna has been lethal with the ball for GT so far, and is picking a wicket every 11.62 deliveries on average.
GT’s Sai Kishore is second on the list with 12 scalps in eight innings, and Noor Ahmad is third with the same number of scalps but a slightly poor average than Kishore.
