The VPLT20 recently got over, with Jitesh Sharma-led NECO Master Blasters winning the trophy
The main purpose of all the state T20 leagues in India right now is to unearth new local talents and give them the opportunity to shine at the biggest stage available at the state level.
The Vidarbha Pro T20 League that ended yesterday, June 15, with the Jitesh Sharma-led NECO Master Blasters winning the trophy after dominating the league which saw many young talents emerge.
Let’s look at three such players who will be targeted by Indian Premier League (IPL) teams come the 2026 IPL Auction.
Danish Malewar
The 22-year-old became a known name in the cricketing ecosystem of India after he scored a century in the final of the last Ranji Trophy that saw his side, Vidarbha, defeat Kerala and lift the title. After proving his pedigree at the first-class level, the batter showed that he has a lot of versatility by scoring 318 runs at a strike rate of 161.4 and averaging 79.5.
Safe to say, with a solid base already set by Malewar, IPL teams would be keen to invest in a rising talent like him.
Aryan Meshram
Meshram is only 23, but he ended as the leading run scorer of the 2025 season of VPLT20. The top-order left-hander scored 358 runs at a strike rate of 140.9 while averaging 59.67 and was one of the main reasons behind the NECO Master Blasters winning the trophy. The IPL teams would certainly have an eye on him as he grows into the Vidarbha cricket ecosystem from here on.
Shanmesh Deshmukh
NECO Master Blasters’ medium pacer Shanmesh Deshmukh was the key pacer for Jitesh Sharma’s side, and he picked up the joint highest wickets in the competition - 13. While his average and economy were a bit on the higher side, the right-arm pacer certainly has a lot of pedigree, and IPL sides would be interested to check him out in the upcoming years.
