Ground details and combinations
There is a massive difference between the percentage of wickets picked up by the pacers (71) compared to the spinners (29). However, there is hardly anything to choose from when it comes to the balls and runs per wicket ratio.
The fast bowlers have picked up a wicket once every 19.9 deliveries, 26.9 runs apart, while the corresponding numbers for the spinners are 20.7 and 26.7 respectively. The spinners have been a tad economical, conceding at 7.8 runs per over, compared to the pacers, who have an economy rate of 8.1.
A combination of seven batsmen including a wicketkeeper and a spin all-rounder should be the way to go. You can pick three fast bowlers and another spinner, which will give the side an excellent balance.
When Colin Munro scores big, he really does score big! Since the restart of PSL 2021, Munro has scores of 11, 90*, 4 and 88* from his four innings. He has slammed 193 runs at 96.50 to go with a strike rate of 174.45 so far and we could see yet another spectacular knock from the New Zealand batsman once again.
Our Criclytics Player Projector predicts Munro will score 38-58 runs in this match
With three more wickets in the previous match against Karachi Kings, Zalmi captain Wahab Riaz now is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament, with 14 scalps at 19.28 and has struck once every 13.2 deliveries. Wahab is bringing all his experience into play in this match, which has seen him take significant strides in the table. The experienced campaigner will once again look to produce a vital spell against an in-form United side.
Our Criclytics Player Projector predicts Wahab will pick up 1-2 wickets in this match
Shoaib Malik may not be in the best of forms of late, but there’s no doubt that the former Pakistan skipper could be quite a handful if he gets going. After scoring 73 in the first match after the restart, he has managed just two more runs from his next three innings. He has scored 176 runs at a strike rate in excess of 127 in the tournament so far and is due for a big one. This could very well be the match where he returns to form. It’ll be a huge bonus if could also pick up a wicket or two with his off-spin.
Our Criclytics Player Projector predicts Malik will score 16-24 runs and pick up 0-1 wickets in this match
Hasan Ali decided to stay back in the PSL 2021, a day after he had initially announced he’d be leaving due to personal reasons. United would be delighted with that decision as he is their leading wicket-taker this season. With 11 wickets at 15.54 and an economy rate of a little over six, the Pakistan pacer has shown that he is a crucial member of this unit and he will once again look to prove that in this match. He is yet to go wicketless in PSL 2021.
Our Criclytics Player Projector predicts Hasan will pick up 2-3 wickets in this match
