It's No Joke: Sourav Ganguly Urges BCCI To Break Cricketing Ties With Pakistan
India and Pakistan have not been involved in a bilateral series since 2012-13
Following the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, which resulted in the death of many innocent tourists, former India captain Sourav Ganguly has called for India to cut off cricketing ties with Pakistan completely.
Over the years, India have exclusively engaged Pakistan in ICC tournaments. Most recently, the men's team clashed in Dubai for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The two neighbours have not engaged in a bilateral series since 2012-13.
"100 per cent, this [breaking ties with Pakistan] should be done. Strict action is necessary. It is no joke that such things happen every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated," former BCCI president Ganguly told journalists in Kolkata.
The next ICC event will be the Women's ODI World Cup later this year, which India will host. However, according to an agreement between the PCB and BCCI, the matches between India and Pakistan will be played at a neutral venue.
