“I’ve Come To Play” - Virat Kohli’s Nephew Breaks Silence After DPL 2025 Selection
Aryaveer is a right-arm legspinner and a big admirer of the late Shane Warne
Aryaveer Kohli, the 15-year-old nephew of Virat Kohli, is set to feature in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025. The young legspinner, son of Virat's elder brother Vikas Kohli, was picked by South Delhi Superstarz (SDS) for INR 1 Lakh in the auction.
Aryaveer is a right-arm legspinner and a big admirer of the late Shane Warne. He has been trained by Virat Kohli’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, at the West Delhi Cricket Academy.
He will be playing under the leadership of Ayush Badoni, alongside IPL legspinner Digvesh Rathi, who has also mentored him closely during training sessions.
All eyes will be on Aryaveer, but the youngster is keeping things simple. “I don’t think much about it,” he told CNN-News18 Cricketnext.
“I mean, I have come to play, and that is what I think about. There is a lot of excitement. It is a big platform. It will be fun.
"The atmosphere in the dressing room is very chill. The preparations are going well. Sarandeep sir has been helping me a lot from the first day itself to improve my bowling.
"I will definitely try to give my best.”
South Delhi head coach and former India spinner Sarandeep Singh is impressed by Aryaveer's dedication and attitude.
“I’m working with Aryaveer, but I don’t think about his surname. He’s a nice boy, training really hard in the nets and trying to give his best all the time. In fact, he comes to training before time. So, I think that gene has been inherited,” Sarandeep told CNN-News18.
“But as of now, he is very young but focused on his game. Whenever his time comes, he will definitely perform well and do his best.”
