Ravindra Jadeja has handed over CSK's captaincy back to MS Dhoni after just eight matches
Ravindra Jadeja has handed back Chennai Super Kings' captaincy duties to MS Dhoni after eight matches, the franchise confirmed on Saturday.
"Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game and has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK," CSK said in an official release.
"MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest and to allow Jadeja to focus on his game."
Ahead of IPL 2022, Dhoni relinquished the skipper duties for Jadeja. Under the allrounder, CSK have lost six matches and won two matches this season.
Jadeja had never captained at First-Class or international level prior to the season. He managed to score 112 runs from 8 innings at a strike rate of 121.74 and claimed five wickets at an average of 42.6.
