Chennai Super Kings allrounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2022 due to a bruised rib. Jadeja had injured himself while fielding during CSK's match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 4 which kept him out the recent clash against Delhi Capitals.
"He has a bruised rib. The medical advice is he should not strain it, so we have decided that he should leave the IPL," CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed to ESPNCricinfo.
Jadeja relinquished captaincy after eight games into the latest season to focus on his individual performances and handed the reins back to MS Dhoni.
The allrounder scored 110 runs from 10 innings at a strike rate of 118.4 and claimed five wickets at an economy of 7.5.
CSK are currently second from the bottom with four wins from 11 matches and will face arch-rivals Mumbai Indians on Thursday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
