James Anderson might be 42, but he’s really turning up his A game in the T20 format, averaging 14.70 in the ongoing Vitality Blast 2025 season. The 42-year-old turned up prime in Lancashire’s clash against Yorkshire, with figures of 3/25, including dismissing Dawid Malan.
Defending 175, Anderson’s opening burst was crucial for the Roses, as he dismissed Yorkshire’s skipper Malan and then removed No.3 batter William Luxton in the powerplay. The veteran then returned later on in the 15th over, where he picked up Abdullah Shafique’s wicket, after the Pakistan batter scored 54 off 34 balls.
It isn’t the first time this season that Anderson has shone with the ball. The 42-year-old is currently averaging 14.70 in the season, with figures of 2/24, 1/25, 0/52, 1/22 and now 3/25 in five matches after the break.
Overall, Anderson has 17 wickets in the season, with an economy of 7.57. Last season, the 42-year-old put his hat in the ring for the Indian Premier League (IPL), registering for the auction.
However, none of the franchises were interested in his services. Will that change on the back of an impressive Vitality Blast 2025 season?
