Harry Brook and Jamie Smith punished India with a 303-run stand for the sixth wicket in the second Test at Edgbaston on July 4 (Friday). When Smith walked out to bat, England were in danger of following on, with the score reading 84/5, as captain Ben Stokes walked back for a first-ball duck.
But from thereon, it was one-way traffic, as the duo smashed 303 runs off just 368 deliveries, batting at nearly the pace of ODIs. During this partnership, Smith became the first English wicketkeeper in almost five years to bring up a Test 150.
