Jason Holder might be 33, but the West Indian lanky all-rounder is currently at the peak of his T20 powers. Over the last few weeks, Holder has been in stellar form, with 624 runs in 2025 and 65 wickets with the ball, averaging 22.5.
There’s no denying that recent form will catch the eye of IPL franchises. With very few big names in the IPL 2026 auction, Holder might find himself in the eye of these three franchises.
3 Teams that can target Holder in IPL 2026 Auction
Jason Holder last played in the IPL in 2023, but he has the right ingredients to be successful for KKR. Last season, the franchise struggled, finishing in eighth place, which led to multiple changes.
Bringing in someone like Holder would solve two of their biggest problems: their need for a bowler who can handle the middle overs and a batsman who can provide late-game fireworks.
The all-rounder has already picked up eight wickets in the ongoing CPL and scored 170 runs at a strike rate of 180.85.
Delhi Capitals struggled to find the bridge connecting their batting and bowling.
That bridge could be Jason Holder, as the all-rounder is the perfect No.8 in T20 cricket. Holder can be a superior upgrade over Dushmanta Chameera, both with the bat and the ball.
Just this year, he’s picked up five four-wicket hauls, at a strike rate of 15.2.
CSK struggling to replace Dwayne Bravo? A 33-year-old Holder could be the answer. Holder knows how CSK’s setup works, given that he was part of the franchise almost a decade ago.
But more importantly, Holder has all the elements to work out as a CSK all-rounder, the ability to bowl with the new ball, and can chip in with a few overs at the death. Not just that, his batting prowess down the order certainly makes him a prime CSK prospect.
