Follow UsJust after returning to the squad for the ODI series against India, Jason Holder had to miss out the 1st ODI in Port of Spain after being infected with Covid-19. Skipper Nicholas Pooran informed the same during the toss. "Unfortunately Jason [Holder] has Covid so he misses out," Pooran said during toss.
Holder had been rested for the three-match series against Bangladesh in Guyana, which they lost 3-0 but the selectors wanted to use his experience in the India series, with a lot riding on the outcome.
While Holder had to miss the first game, there is no official clarification regarding his availablity for the remainder of the series. Kyle Mayers made a comeback to the XI after missing out on the final match against Bangladesh earlier this month. West Indies have Romario Shepherd to take the all-rounder's spot.
