Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has added yet another achievement to his name by becoming the fastest Indian pacer to take 300 T20 wickets. Overall, he’s the third fastest pacer, after Andrew Tye (208 innings) and Lasith Malinga (217 innings). Bumrah completed the milestone in his 237th innings.
Bumrah, meanwhile, had a lacklustre day despite the Mumbai Indians being stellar with the ball on the day against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Deepak Chahar bowled brilliantly along with Trent Boult in the powerplay and restricted SRH to the lowest powerplay score by a team this season — 24/4. Boult even finished on a high, picking four wickets for just 26 runs in his four overs.
However, Bumrah was uncharacteristically expensive on the day and gave away 39 runs in his four overs. Abhinav Manohar and Heinrich Klaasen dealt with him quite well, before Bumrah dismissed Klaasen with a full toss, the Proteas batter hit straight to Tilak Varma in the deep. That wicket helped Bumrah reach 300 wickets in the T20 format.
SRH ended up with a paltry score of 143/8, due to some splendid batting from Klaasen and Manohar.
