Ace paceman Jasprit Bumrah has become the leading wicket-taker for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 31-year-old went past Lasith Malinga’s wicket tally of 170 in Match 45 of the IPL 2025 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium on April 27 (Sunday).
It was in-form LSG opener Aiden Markram who became Bumrah’s 171st victim in the IPL. Not the best of deliveries, but Markram timed it straight to the fielder at deep backward square leg.
187 - Sunil Narine for KKR
171 - Jasprit Bumrah for MI
170 - Lasith Malinga for MI
157 - Bhuvneshwar Kumar for SRH
140 - Dwayne Bravo for CSK
Bumrah now also has the second-most wickets for a franchise in the IPL. The right-arm pacer is only behind Sunil Narine, who has 187 wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Bumrah missed the first four games of the IPL 2025 because of a back injury and has taken five wickets in as many games since then.
