Bumrah To Miss RCB Clash, But Could Return Very Soon For Mumbai: Reports

Bumrah is currently at the BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru, undergoing rehabilitation

Jasprit Bumrah will miss Mumbai Indians’ (MI) clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 7 (Monday), but is edging close to a return, according to ESPNcricinfo.

Bumrah, who has been out of action since January due to a back injury he picked up at the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, is currently at the BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru, undergoing rehabilitation.

The ace speedster, according to ESPNCricinfo, has already begun increasing his workloads and is believed to be in the final stages of recovery. He will be cleared to join the MI camp once he is given the green signal by the BCCI Medical Team to return to action.

MI, who will be taking on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) later today, have had a rough start to IPL 2025, having lost two of their first three matches. But Bumrah’s return will prove to be a real shot in the arm for the five-time champions. Rightly considered the best T20 bowler in the world, Bumrah was MI’s top retention ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

What will be interesting to see is how soon MI integrate Bumrah into the side if and when he’s declared fit, considering he has no match practice under his belt. BCCI’s priority will be to have Bumrah fit for the five-Test series against England in June.
