Jasprit Bumrah has conceded 100 runs in an innings for the first time in his Test career. The star Indian pacer reached this unwanted milestone during the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, Manchester.
At the end of his 32nd over, Bumrah's figures read 2/108.
Before this match, Bumrah’s most expensive bowling figures in an innings were 4/99 against Australia in Melbourne in December 2024. Apart from these two instances, he has never conceded more than 90 runs in a Test innings.

1/88 vs NZ, Wellington, 2020
5/85 vs ENG, Nottingham, 2018
3/84 vs ENG, Chennai, 2021
The 31-year-old hasn’t been at his best in the ongoing five-match series in England. While he has picked up 13 wickets across five innings at an average of 26.8, seven of those have come against the tail (Nos. 8-11). Against England’s top seven batters, Bumrah’s average climbs above 42.
Fitness has also been a concern for Bumrah in the longest format. He had informed the Indian team management that he would feature in only three Tests on the England tour. He missed the second Test and was likely to skip the fourth as well, if not for multiple injury setbacks in the Indian camp.
“Jasprit Bumrah — I don’t think you’ll see him playing in the upcoming Test matches. He might even consider retirement. He is struggling with his body. His body has totally given up. His speeds have been on the lower side in the Manchester Test. There is no pace in this Test match,” said Mohammad Kaif in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter).
