Jayden Seales Slapped With Fine After Pat Cummins' Send-Off

Seales was slapped with a 15% fine and one demerit point

West Indies pacer Jayden Seales has been slapped with a 15% fine, after his send-off to Pat Cummins, on June 26 (Thursday) during the first Test against Australia. Not just that, Seales has also been handed one demerit point for his actions.

“Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match,” ICC’s press release said.

What led to the nasty send-off? “Pat hit a couple of good shots off me and I just showed him where the dressing room was and there wasn’t really anything in it,” Seales said. The right-arm speedster finished with figures of 5/60 in the first innings and has picked up Josh Inglis’ wicket in the second innings.

As it stands, however, it is advantage West Indies, given that they have restricted Australia to 92/4 in the second innings, as the visitors only have an 82-run lead in the clash.
